"Glass Cullets Impact Assessment Workshop" was held in İstanbul within the scope of the Technical Assistance Project for the Development of the End of Waste Concept in Turkey, which is financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey and of which our General Directorate of Environmental Management is the beneficiary. The Workshop, held between 14-17 May 2024, aimed to inform stakeholders about the End of Waste criteria and their impacts and to use the results as technical input for project studies.

The opening speeches were delivered by Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate, Environmental Management Deputy General Director Sebahattin DÖKMECİ and Project Manager Gözde VARDAR. In the Workshop, End of Waste criteria were presented by Project Team Leader E.Scott CROSSETT, Project Deputy Team Leader Oğuzhan AKINÇ and Project Experts Romano RUGGERI and Mustafa URGEN. An overview of the workshop was evaluated with project expert Engin TURAN, and market, economy, regulatory effects and social impacts with project expert Özgür AVCUOĞLU.

In the final two days of the four-day Workshop, Impact Assessment Consultation Working Groups conducted impact assessment studies for glass cullets in the presence of the project team leader and other project experts. The event concluded with an evaluation of the workshop results and group activities.
