As part of the Technical Assistance for Development of End-of-Waste Concept in Türkiye, the Circular Economy and End-of-Waste Applications Workshop and Training has started in Konya. The event, which took place on February 3-4, 2025, aims to provide detailed information to representatives of the Provincial Directorates of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change about Circular Economy and End-of-Waste Applications and the studies carried out within this framework.
Gözde VARDAR, the project manager, and Dr. Özlem YILMAZ, the director of the Industrial Waste Management Branch of the Circular Economy and Waste Management Department of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, gave the event's opening remarks.
On the first day of the event, the concept and applications of End-of-Waste, and the differences between End-of-Waste and by-products were conveyed to the participants. The draft regulations worked on so far within the scope of the project were also shared. The afternoon session of the event continued with roundtable group studies.
On the second day of the event, personnel from the General Directorate of Environmental Management, Circular Economy, and Waste Management Department informed the participants about waste management, waste mineral and plantal oils and circular economy applications in our country. The training covered extended producer responsibility, municipal waste and zero waste practices, and environmental permit and license applications. The event concluded with a training assessment session.
